The Federal Project Management Unit, FPMU, of Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes, ACRESAL, has expressed readiness to empower women in Bajoga Funakaye local government area of Gombe state.
The Unit Specialist, Mrs. Mbalamen Esther Yuwa, of FPMU Abuja, stated this while addressing a group of women in the Sale-Mansur community in Bajoga.
Mrs Esther Yuwa, who briefed the women on how to improve their businesses which include fish farming, poultry farming vegetable farming, and tailoring said it is part of the project’s community empowerment programs.
While speaking, the ACRESAL project coordinator Gombe state office, Ambassador Sani Adamu Jauro explained that the team was in Bajoga to look into some challenging environmental and social issues in the area.
The team led by the Emir of Funakaye, Alhaji Yakubu Muhammad Kwairanga, Representatives from the World Bank, and Representatives from ACReSAL at the federal and state offices, visited some major gully erosion in Bajoga Town to find possible control.
In his remark, His Royal Highness the Emir of Funakaye Alhaji Yakubu Kwairanga, thanked the World Bank, FPMU, ACRESAL, and Gombe state government for the support given to the people of Funakaye local government.
The Royal Father promised to give maximum cooperation to all programs and projects allocated to Funakaye local government.
Some of the ACReSAL women empowerment beneficiaries interviewed Jamila Ibrahim and Fatima Muhammad appreciated the World Bank and ACRESAL’s effort, promising to use the loan given to them judiciously.
