Wife of the Adamawa State Governor, Hajiya Lami Fintiri, has led the launch of the Maternal and Child Nutritional Support Outreach at the Specialist Hospital, Yola.
The programme, sponsored by Hajiya Sa’adatu Galadima, wife of the All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship candidate in Adamawa State, was launched this morning.
The outreach is focused on maternal and child nutrition, a critical aspect of promoting the health and well-being of mothers and children, particularly during the early stages of life.
In her remarks, Hajiya Lami Fintiri commended Hajiya Sa’adatu Galadima for the initiative and encouraged her to sustain the gesture for the benefit of the people of Adamawa State.
Responding, Hajiya Sa’adatu Galadima said the gesture is aimed at building on what Hajiya Lami Fintiri has already started in supporting women and children in the state.
Also speaking, the Commissioner for Health and Human Services, Adamawa State, Chubado Mohammed Jada, acknowledged the achievements and efforts of the Fintiri administration in the health sector in the state.
The outreach featured the distribution of nutritional supplements, food items and other essential support to pregnant women, nursing mothers and children, to help address malnutrition and improve child health outcomes.
Beneficiaries at the event expressed appreciation for the intervention, describing it as timely and impactful, while stakeholders called for sustained collaboration to strengthen maternal and child healthcare delivery across Adamawa State.
