Adamawa State Gov encourages Corp members to embrace skill acquisition program

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintri of Adamawa State has encouraged Corps Members to avail themselves of the opportunities for self employment offered through Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development Programme.

 

Ahmadu Umaru Fintri stated this while declaring open 2024 BATCH ‘B’ Stream One Orientation Course ongoing at National Youth Service Corps Orientation Camp Damare, Girei local government area of Adamawa State.

 

Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintri explained that Corps Members are strategic stakeholders in the execution of people oriented policies and programmes, particularly in the areas of Education, healthcare, agriculture and rural development.

 

According to him, he attach special importance to the welfare of corps members, and according to him, he has demonstrated this by payment of ten thousand monthly allowance to all Corps Members serving in the state, in addition to another lump sum of ten thousand naira for those in the Post Primary Schools at the end of their service year.

 

He further said he has consistently augment feeding in the camp with multi-million naira food items as well as improving Camp facilities for their pleasurable camping experience.

 

The governor also emphasized that the security of Corps Members is one of his priorities, adding that he has made special security arrangements for the protection of corps members wherever they are serving in the State.

 

He also urged them to be security conscious and follow the personal security tips they are going to be exposed to by the security experts in the course of their security lectures.

 

In a remark, the State Coordinator NYSC, Mallam Mohammed Lawan Ahmed urged Corps Members to ensure healthy interactions , exchange ideas that will broaden the understanding of the country and build lasting friendships.

 

He pointed out that, they will soon launch a mega tree planting campaign tag named ” Fresh Air Tree planting Project: One Corper, One Tree” to be launched by the Governor and subsequently in all the twenty one local government areas of the state.

 

The Oath of Allegiance was administered by the Adamawa State Chief Judge, Justice Hafsat Abdulrahman, urging the Corps Members to obey the constitution of Federal Republic of Nigeria.

 

About one thousand twenty three Corps Members registered in the Camp.
