Adamawa State government flags off scholarship for federal government colleges students.

Adamawa State Government has flagged off the First phase of Scholarship Scheme for forty students admitted in to Federal Government Colleges.

 

The flagged off ceremony which took place in Song local government area of Adamawa State, was also followed by empowerment project for three hundred and sixty Four Elders, Youth and Women.

 

Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintri represented by the Deputy Governor, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta explained that Education is the bed rock of life, urging parents and the local government council Chairmen not to terminate education of the girl Child.

 

According to him, his administration has realized that girls from rural areas do not go to school because their parents cannot afford to pay for their education, hence the need to prioritize education because it is fundamental.

 

Governor Fintri therefore expressed happiness that girls are the most beneficiaries of the scholarship, especially the children of the less privileged in the society.

 

Also Speaking at the occasion, the Chairman Song local government area, Idris Yahaya explained that education serves as the foundation for advancement, a pathway to countless opportunities and a critical element in the quest for a prosperous society.

 

The Chairman said the scholarship scheme is also a reflection of the state government’s determination to provide affordable education for all.

 

In a remark, the Education Secretary in Song local government, Ahmadu Bakari called on the people of the area to give their maximum support to the government and always be law abiding citizens.

 

Speaking on behalf of the pupils, Mudassir Ibrahim appreciated the government for the scholarship.

 

During the ceremony, the Governor presented boarding School materials and money to Elders, Youths and Women as well as foundation laying for the construction of one block classroom and an office at Dauchi Community of Song local government area.
