About ten shops have been destroyed by fire around federal college of education FCE Yola Saturday afternoon.
Though, no life was lost, but the fire outbreak destroyed valuables, leaving the shop owners counting their loses.
On receiving the news, Deputy Governor professor Kaletapwa Farauta rushed to the scene to have first hand information about the inferno and sympathize with the victims.
She warned residents to restrain from bush burning especially, near residential areas which according to information gathered was the cause of the fire outbreak.
Professor Farauta urged them not to allow their spirit to be dampened by what happened but rather see it as an act of God.
A victim Mercy Paul, narrated her ordeal, testifying that the fire emanated behind their shops.
such incident had occurred in the past around the area.
