Adamawa state governor receives National Sports festival’s Torch of Unity

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has assured that Adamawa’s teams will participate in the forthcoming National Sports Festival in Ogun State.

 

Governor Fintiri also expressed optimism that the teams would bring home medals.

He gave the assurance when he received the National Sports Festival Unity Torch, led by the Director of Athletics at the National Sports Commission, Mrs. Kiana Mbora, at the entrance of the Government House in Yola.

Represented by the Chief of Staff of the Government House, Yola, Dr. Edgar Amos Sunday, the governor emphasized the significance of sporting events in society.

 

Governor Fintiri announced that his administration has committed significant resources to complete a new stadium along Numan Road to enhance sporting activities in the state.

 

Earlier, the Director of Athletics at the National Sports Commission, Mrs. Kiana Mbora, stated that the visit to Adamawa was aimed at raising awareness about the National Sports Festival, which will take place from May 16th to 30th, 2025.

 

She noted that sports have the power to unify the world.

 

The Director National Sports Commission also commended the Adamawa State Government for taking the necessary measures to ensure the participation of its teams at the Ogun Festival.
