Adamawa state Gov’t expresses commitment to college of Agriculture Ganye.

Adamawa state government has expressed commitment to give college of Agriculture Ganye a face lift.


Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, made this known while on a working visit to the College today Friday.


Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, represented by his deputy Professor Kaletapwa Farauta was at the college of Agric Ganye in company of the Commissioner of education and human capital development Dr. Umar Garba Pella, and that of Land and Survey Joab Samah, advisers among other government functionaries.


The governor and his entourage were received by the college provost Engineer Hussaini Idris Danjuma and the chairman Ganye local government Jibrin Ali Gangjari .


The Governor upon arrival was conducted round the college for an on the spot assessment.


The visit by the Governor was to have a clear picture of the state of the learning institution, to enable government draw a road map geared towards upgrading the college noting that education is the bedrock of any society.


He said the move is part of efforts to fulfill his campaign promises, even as he made emphasis on the need for accreditation of the college programs to guarantee the credibility of its certificate.


Governor Fintiri reassured that his administration is on course to transform the education sector and college of Agric Ganye is not an exception, calling for cooperation from all stakeholders.


The provost of the college Engineer Hussaini Idris Danjuma acknowledged the keen interest of Adamawa state government in the learning institution which has been in existence for over thirty years.


The provost revealed that the Governor in his magnanimity made the provision of twenty staff houses, 150 KVA generator, and approved the establishment of Gyawana campus among other interventions.


While highlighting some of the grey areas for redress, Engineer Danjuma revealed that none of the fourteen departments of the college have been accredited.


The Govergnor was earlier at the palace of Ganwari Ganye, Umaru Adamu Sanda to pay homage.
