Adamawa state gov’t hosts media parley, clarify its position on Fufore local gov’t leadership

Adamawa state government has confirmed that the vice Chairperson of Fufore local government , Peace Samson Audu, is currently in charge of affairs in the local government council.

 

The Chief press secretary to Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, Humwashi Wonosikou made the confirmation during a media parley organised by the office of the Principal Special Assistant (PSA) on media and communication to the governor George Kushi in Yola with theme: empowering Adamawa’s future.

Humwashi Wonosikou explained that there are baseless speculations by those who claimed to be saints and standing by the people.

 

“his excellency has been away until recently and therefore we cannot say that the government does not want Peace to be in that office, she is already in that office.

 

All that we are waiting for is when she will be sworn in ” he added.

Humwashi, therefore, noted that the state government will not in any way interfere with the affairs of the local government but to also wait for when the vice chairperson will be sworn in.

 

On the ban of cutting down trees in the name of making charcoal, the chief press secretary pointed out that the government has already passed a law to that effect, what remains is for those who are responsible for enforcement of the law to do the needful as government can never be everywhere at the same time.

Speaking on the score card of the Fintiri led administration, the convener of the media briefing, PSA George Kushi highlited that the 1000 citizens would be train annually in solar photovoltic installation as government has signed an MoU for the development a 300 megawatt solar Pv farm that will help in addressing power issues in the state.

 

” our collaboration with the Rural Electrification Agency promises to unlock billions of dollars in private sector investment, create over 40, 000 jobs and significantly reposition adamawa as a beacon of renewable energy innovation ” he said.

Kushi, explained that while the government has now embarked on the recruitment of 4000 applicant into the civil service workforce, most of the infrastructural projects in the state are now at their finishing stages across all sectors.

 

In the area of security, the PSA said government has been working tirelessly with federal agencies, traditional leaders and grassroot stakeholders in order to sustain peace, deepen trust and protect every citizen.

 

“today Adamawa state is regarded as one of the safest and the most stable states in the country,”

 

Speakers during the media briefing commended the fintiri led administration for its efforts to strengthen economic activities and provide job opportunities in the state .
