The Commissioner for Information and Strategy, James Iliya, disclosed this while addressing Government House Correspondents shortly after the first Executive Council meeting of 2026, chaired by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.

The Commissioner explained that the contract, valued at N19,623,301,831.87, was awarded to Lubel Nigeria Limited with a completion period of 52 weeks from the date of signing.
In addition, the council approved the procurement of laboratory equipment for the Modibbo Adama University Teaching Hospital, Yola, at the sum of N304,370,687.41. The equipment is expected to be supplied within six weeks.
James Iliya also announced that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will visit the state to commission key projects executed by the Fintiri administration.
He further noted that government anticipates speedy completion of the renovation and remodelling project of the Government House Banquet Hall, which is expected to be ready within the next three months.
Providing further insight into the Mother and Child Specialist Hospital project, the Commissioner for Health and Human Services, Felix Tangwami, described it as a step in the right direction. He noted that many women and children currently face difficulties accessing effective healthcare, stressing that the hospital will address those challenges.
He equally highlighted the urgent need for laboratory equipment for MBBS students at Modibbo Adama University Teaching Hospital, noting that Federal Government procurement procedures typically take longer, necessitating state intervention.
