Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri Said his administration will continue to give the Nigeria police, all the necessary support needed in order to carry out its duty of protecting lives and property of the people of the state.
Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri stated this when he hosted the Inspector General of police, Kayode Egbetokun, who paid him a courtesy call while on working visit in Yola , the Adamawa state capital.
Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri Said the Nigeria police is doing well in the business of protecting lives and property of the people of the state and the Adamawa state police commissioner, CP Tola Afolabi is also on top of situations in the state.
According to governor Fintiri, the police commissioner is doing well as his synergy with other security agencies in the state is commendable and he will continue to give him all the support that he need to succeed as the number one lead security officer in the state.
Describing the clash between the army and the police as very unfortunate, the governor said he has constituted a committee at the state government level to ensure what happened is unravel and such does not occur again.
The governor assured all the security agencies in the state of his administration’s support in order to achieve a crime free society.
Governor Fintiri said, during the northeast governors’ forum meeting, the governors discussed on reopening the mobile training camp at Gwoza, the governor equally asked for the approval of the IGP to open another training camp at Mbamba yola to improve the security of the area and the state which will also benefit from his leadership while they continue to give their support.
Earlier, the Inspector General of police, Kayode Egbetokun said the aim of the visit was to appreciate the governor for his immense contributions to the Nigeria police.
Kayode said the force will continue to support both the state command and the state government in fostering peace and unity in the state, adding that the force is ready to change the policing narratives across the country.
During the visit, the IGP presented a plague to the governor.
