Adamawa State Gov’t approves 42km Damare- Borong road construction

Adamawa state government has approved the award of contract to construct forty two kilometer road stretching from NYSC Camp to Borrong.

 

The state commissioner for education, Doctor Garba Umar Pella stated this while briefing newsmen at the government house shortly after the 8th executive council meeting presided by the executive governor of the state.

 

Doctor Garba Umar Pella said due to the strategic nature of the road that cut across two local governments areas of Demsa and Girei coupled with the untold hardship being faced by people living along that axis, the state government deemed it necessary to construct the road, hence the approval.

 

Garba Pella said the contract for the construction was awarded to hydro source and resource Nigeria limited at the cost of eight hundred and thirty six million, eight hundred and twenty two thousand, three hundred and thirty naira within the construction period of twelve months.

 

The council also approved the variation of claims for the construction of a modern laboratory at the specialist hospital yola which was earlier approved by the council on December 2021 which if completed will be one of the best laboratories in Northern Nigeria.

 

According to the commissioner, the contract was awarded at the sum of five hundred and seventy eight million, seven hundred and seven thousand, seven hundred and thirty seven naira, thirty four kobo and the contract has reached an appreciable level, but the council due to its detailed analysis of the contract also considered the present cost of building materials and approved the variation.

 

Doctor Garba Umar Pella said this approvals were done for the betterment of the people of the state and in line with the Fintiri led administration’s commitment to changing the narratives in the state and place it on the map of most advanced states.
