Aisha Bura from Borno State has emerged the new President of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ.
In the just concluded triennial delegates conference held in Abuja, Bura pulled 498 votes to defeat the Incumbent Ladi Bala who scored 381 votes, 3 votes were voided.
Recall Bura lost against Ladi in 2020 at Minna, Niger State but re-strategized and returned this year to achieve her dream.
Dr Lillian Okonkwo scored 521 votes to defeat Folake who scored 313 votes to emerged Deputy National President and Wasilla Laden also defeated Incumbent Helen Udofa to emerge national secretary.
It is important to note that all candidates on the Bura team with the slogan “Team-Unite” won their elections.
