EXECUTIVE SECRETARY ADAMAWA MUSLIM PILGRIMS COMMISSION, ABUBAKAR SALIHU INTERFACES WITH STAKEHOLDERS, OPERATIONAL STAFF IN MAKKAH AS PILGRIMS BRACE UP FOR HOME BOUND AIRLIFT:

Adamawa State Pilgrims who are in Makkah have been assured of the commencement of their airlift on Wednesday next week.

 

The Permanent Secretary and Executive Secretary of the Adamawa State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Commission, Malam Abubakar Salihu gave the assurance during an interactive session with stakeholders and operational staff at conference hall of the Adamawa State Glass House No 1 in Makkah Saturday.

 

The Executive Secretary who gave a detailed review of the Hajj2023 operation conducted by the commission in Saudi, lamented the poor feeding at Madinah, Masha’ir as well as Arafah.

 

Malam Abubakar Salihu who expressed strong displeasure at the poor feeding arrangements, said the Commission has sought for refund to the pilgrims from relevant Saudi Service Providers.

 

He informed the gathering that the operation so far is successful and moving as planned with isolated hitches here and there which have been forseen and remedied.

 

On airlift of pilgrims to Adamawa, he said the Aero airline that will convey Adamawa pilgrims has since gotten slots at Jeddah airport to operate and has been airlifting Nasarawo pilgrims to Abuja.

 

Malam Abubakar Salihu said on Tuesday next week it is expected that the airline will complete the airlift of Oyo State pilgrims and Adamawa is next.

 

He assured that as soon as the turn of Adamawa comes, the airline will operate back to back airlift to speedily convey the Pilgrims back to Yola.

 

The Executive Secretary reminded the pilgrims that the policy of 32 kg for bags and 8kg for hand luggage must be adhered to strictly.

 

Malam Abubakar Salihu cautioned the pilgrims in their on interest to abide by the advisory in order not to lose their precious belonging during weighing exercise which will be done by officials of the airline at the hotels.

 

The Executive Secretary thanked the stakeholders and staff for their hard work and support which translated for the success attained.

 

He also commended the pilgrims for their patience, understanding, support and cooperation, urging them to remain law abiding.

 

A statement by the Adamawa 2023 media team stated that,the meeting had in attendance the Amirul Hajj2023, Dr AbdulHafiz Inuwa and other prominent personalities.
