Federal Ministry of Women Affairs says empowering women will bring about rapid development in Nigeria.
Director, Gender Affairs, Federal Ministry of Women Affairs, Mrs. Friya Bulus disclosed this in an exclusive interview with Radio Nigeria Fombina News in Yola Adamawa State.
The Director, Gender Affairs, Federal Ministry of Women Affairs, Mrs. Friya Bulus says women play key roles in sustainable economic development through their contributions in all sectors of the economy, and empowering them will encourage them to do more.
Bulus emphasized the role of women in building families, pointing out that women are largely responsible for dysfunctional families and societies if not properly trained and handled.
She further explained that empowering women economically should not be seen as a threat to the men as it will go a long way in complementing men’s efforts and building a prosperous nation.
The Director, Gender Affairs, Federal Ministry of Women Affairs, Mrs. Friya Bulus expressed the ministry’s willingness to support women empowerment in any possible way in line with the ministry’s mandate of promoting the general well-being of women and children.
