In an effort to flush fake and substandard products out of markets as well as regulate factories and industries, the Standard Organization of Nigeria, SON Gombe office, has called on producers and manufacturers of goods to adhere strictly to the laid down procedures and register with the relevant authorities.
The state coordinator, Mr Yakzum James Danlami, stated this in an interview with radio Nigeria Jewel FM Gombe in his office.
Mr Yakzum said illnesses such as cancer are largely caused by fake, substandard, and expired consumable products, he therefore called on the general public to be vigilant while buying any product.
The SON coordinator thanked Gombe state governor, Alhaji Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, for providing the organization with a piece of land for an office that will enable the agency to conduct some of its tests instead of taking to Lagos.
He added that the new site if completed will serve as a training ground for small and medium enterprises.
