Federal Institute of Industrial Research Oshodi, FIIRO, has sought the support of Radio Nigeria, Fombina FM, to raise public awareness of its activities in the state.
The Director of the Institute, North East Zone, Dr. Ajani Sakirdeen, conveyed this objective during a courtesy visit to the management of Radio Nigeria, Fombina FM Yola, accompanied by other executives.
Dr. Sakirdeen explained that the purpose of the visit was to request the station’s assistance in broadcasting the institute’s activities through programming and reporting.
According to him, the institute’s mandate involves the processing of agro-allied products, with a vision to establish more centers of excellence through industrial research.
He emphasised that their goal is to conduct research and development aligned with the needs of consumers, to promote industrialization and contribute to the socio-economic development of the country.
He further noted that the institute routinely identifies, characterises, and documents all raw materials.
Responding, the General Manager of Radio Nigeria Fombina FM Yola, Alhaji Dahiru Garba Mohammed, highlighted that the institute’s presence would benefit the state and the country at large, particularly by fostering entrepreneurial development.
He pledged the station’s support for the institute’s initiatives in public enlightenment and sensitization.
