The Gombe State House of Assembly has confirmed Mohammad Bappayo Abdulmumini as the Auditor General for Local Government, following a request from the state government submitted during last week’s plenary session.

Speaker of the House, Abubakar Mohammad Lugerewo, praised Abdulmumini’s appointment, citing his extensive experience in local government administration across the state.

According to Lugerewo, Governor Mohammad Inuwa Yahaya nominated Abdulmumini for the role based on his significant contributions to local government affairs and his dedicated career within the council system.

In his remarks, Abdulmumini pledged to prioritize due process and fiscal responsibility in managing local government funds.

He emphasized that his experience in local government administration would aid in restoring accountability and strengthening essential sectors in local government operations.

Supporting the confirmation, Assembly member Shuaibu Adamu Haruna, representing Kwami East, described Abdulmumini as a competent choice, whose expertise would enhance the effectiveness of the local government administration.

Other members, including Musa Manaja Zambuk of Yamaltu West and Nimrod Malum Yari of Billiri, also expressed confidence in Abdulmumini’s capability to uphold high standards in the third tier of government.
