Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has commended the peaceful conduct and impressive voter turnout in the ongoing Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye Federal Constituency bye-election.
The Governor spoke after casting his vote at his polling unit in Jekadafari Ward, Gombe Local Government Area.

He described the election as well organised and peaceful, expressing satisfaction with the enthusiasm shown by voters despite the exercise being a bye-election.
Governor Inuwa Yahaya also expressed optimism about his party’s performance, attributing its acceptance among voters to development recorded by his administration.
He said reports from the three local government areas indicated that the election was proceeding peacefully.

The Governor urged voters, political parties and other stakeholders to maintain the peaceful atmosphere throughout the electoral process, saying the conduct of the bye-election could provide useful experience ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The election is being held across 903 polling units in Gombe, Kwami and Funakaye Local Government Areas to fill the vacant House of Representatives seat following the death of Hon. Yaya Bauchi Tongo.
