In continuation of the budget defence exercise by the various MDAs in the state House of Assembly.
The commissioner of women affairs and social development, Asmau Mohammadu Iganus has been assured of the house of Assembly’s support in implementing her ministry’s policies and programmes for the year 2024.
She was given the assurance when she appeared before the house committee on Appropriation to defend her ministry’s submissions of over one point seven billion naira (1.7billion).
Asmau Iganus said her ministry has so many programmes for women groups urging the women to register their associations from the local government level up to state so as to help them access programs design for women, she also called on national and international partners to come to the aid of women, promising to mobilize them from the grassroots.
On his part, the state commissioner of Energy and Mineral resources Alhaji Sanusi Ahmed Pindiga said their is plan by his Ministry to create ways and attract investors to invest in the state, he also said his ministry will diversify means of curtailing illegal mining in the state.
Whereas the commissioner of youths and sport Alhaji Adamu Inuwa Pantami said his ministry will revive old games being played in primary, secondary schools, tertiary institutions and in the public so as to come out with ways of uniting the youth in the society.
While the Commissioner of works, housing and transportation Engineer Usman Maijama’a Kallamu said his ministry will focus on providing solar street light at all local government headquarters, provision of road networking the state to neighbouring states as well as portable and affordable houses to citizens.
In an interview shortly after it’s defence, the high court of justice submission, the chief registrar Bello Isa Umar Shariff said, with the passage of Administration of criminal justice law by the sixth Assembly and with the frequent visit to correctional centers by the state chief judge, justice Halima Sadiya Muhammad, it has helped in decongesting suspects in the correctional centers.
In his remarks the chairman House Committee on judiciary Gombe state House of Assembly Barrister Golkos Gaius Gaji said once the judiciary is given Autonomy, administration of justice will be speedy, free and fair to all cases and Commend the cordial working relationship existing between the legislature and the judiciary.
