Gov Fintiri calls on NIS to deploy technology in securing the Nation’s boarders

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa state said his administration will continue to support the Nigeria Immigration service on its mandate of safeguarding the boarders of the country.

 

The governor stated this when he granted audience to the newly posted immigration controller, Adamawa state command, Muhammadu Adamu who led some officers on a courtesy visit on the governor at the government house yola.

 

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri said there are challenges regarding boarder security in the state as it has nine local government areas in the state that shares borders with neighboring countries which are very difficult to be manned manually considering the fact that the borders are porous.

 

The governor said, government will look into this challenges and see what it can do in order to address them to ease their work and operations of the command.

 

He called on the controller to deploy his wealth of experience in ensuring that the state command has put in its best for the development of the state and the nation at large.

 

Earlier, the newly posted controller, Muhammadu Adamu said the Nigeria immigration services appreciates the support it has been enjoying from the Adamawa state government, assuring the state government that the men and officers of the state command are always ready to work with the state government.

 

 

While assuring the governor of the security of the state, Muhammadu Adamu also assured that the people of Adamawa state will not experience scarcity of passport as the state command has a new passport officer who took over recently with reforms that will help in tackling all passport’s related issues.
