Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has commended lawyers on their efforts to defending the rule of law in the country.
The Governor made the commendation when he received the new leadership of the Nigeria Bar Association Yola branch on a courtesy call in the Government House, Yola.
Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri saluted the role played by the lawyers to ensuring that the 2023 Adamawa Governorship Election Tribunal was not moved to Abuja, rather they stood on their ground that the state is peaceful for the proceedings.
The governor said even though the country is in a trying times as people pass through hunger and other difficulties, the government will collaborate with the NBA abd other relevant bodies to bring succour to people.
Governor Fintiri said his administration will work together with the NBA for the development of Adamawa adding that the state government will continue to sponsor the members to conferences in the country.
In his remarks, the Chairman Nigeria Bar Association, Yola branch, Mister Idi Ali thanked Governor Fintiri for the constant support to the NBA, and transforming in the judiciary, saying his actions have made the body proud.
Idi commended Governor Umaru Fintiri for the infrastructure development, notably roads network and flyovers, as well as mass transit buses to ease transportation difficulties, urging him to maintain the spirit.
