Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has pledged decisive action against anyone found responsible for the unauthorized construction of additional shops at Yola Town Modern Market, which are not in the master plan.
The Governor stated this while inspecting the near-completion of the market project.
He expressed satisfaction with the quality of work and the timeliness of the construction, commending the Ministry of Commerce and Industry for effective supervision.
A committee has been set up to investigate the matter, and further action will be based on its report.
The Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Ishaya Dabari, emphasized the ministry’s commitment to completing the project on time.
He added that over 900 shops are being built by local contractors as part of the state’s efforts to boost the economy and encourage business growth.
Governor Fintiri also inspected the ongoing construction of hostel blocks at the Nigeria Law School Yola campus, funded by the state government as part of its support for the institution.
