Taraba State Governor advocates dedicated mentoring for younger generation.

Taraba State Governor, Dr Agbu Kefas, has emphasized that the younger generation needs close mentorship now than ever.

The governor stated this during his investiture ceremony as the Grand Patron of Boys Brigade Nigeria, Taraba state council held at the Gospel House in Jalingo.


Governor Agbu Kefas said with the growing trend of social vices and youth restiveness, the next generation needs strict guidance and support in navigating lives’ challenges.

Recognising the importance of the Boys Brigade in moulding the younger generation and instilling the right values in them, the governor suggested that the organisation be established in every church to help train the next generation to take over leadership positions.


He thanked the national and state leadership of the Boys Brigade and pledged his commitment to selfless service and the promotion of the organisation’s vision.

In a remark, National President of the Boys Brigade, Professor Samson Duna congratulated the governor, pointing out that the honour is a testament of his dedication to peace building and transformation.


He thanked the Governor for his developmental strides in Taraba state and promised that the boys Brigade would continue to support his administration.

Earlier, in a sermon titled “the Merciful and Overruling God, ” Governor kefas described God as a merciful father who is always willing to redeem as many who choose to embrace his mercy.

Taking his scriptural reading from Zechariah chapter 3:1-5, the Governor charged believers to focus on God’s assignment for their lives and avoid being distracted.
