Late Zwingina Laid to Rest amidst tears and Sorrow

The Adamawa state Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has emphasized the need for fearless and brave leaders to ensure democratic consolidation and champion the course of humanity.

The Governor made the emphasis in his condolence message during the funeral service of late Senator Jonathan Zwingina which was held at Dishon Dansanda Square, Guyuk local government area of Adamawa state.

 

Mourners and sympathizers from all walks of life across Adamawa, Nigeria, and beyond besieged Guyuk local government area to pay last respect to late senator Jonathan Silas Zwingina as his remains was committed to mother earth Tuesday.

Adamawa state government represented by the deputy governor professor Kaletapwa Farauta in a condolence message described late Zwingina as a leader per excellence and role model who has left a footprint in the history of Nigeria’s socio-political landscape.

 

He said the departed who has been an icon served the country diligently, registering state government’s sympathy to the immediate family and the entire Lunguda community for the demise of whom he tagged a great compatriot and symbol of national development.

 

The Governor prayed God to grant the deceased eternal rest, stressing that he has lived an impactful life that will continue to speak volume.

 

He, therefore, called for unity of purpose for meaningful change and development.

 

Senator Jonathan Zwingina was born in 1954 and passed away on 2nd October 2024 at the age of 70.

 

The deceased who has been known for his tradition of instilling the culture of hard work, dedication to learning, sound character and strong Christian values to children, is survived by seven children, seven grandchildren, a sibling and numerous relations.

 

Among those that attended the funeral are , former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Barrister Boss Mustapha, Former Minister of information,Labaran Maku, former and serving members of the National Assembly as well as too Government functionaries.

 

LATE Senator Jonathan Silas Zwingina was the one who Commissioned FRCN Fombina FM Yola  on 24th February  2003 when he was the Chairman,Senate Committee on information.
