MALARIA: OVER 3.2 TREATED MOSQUITO NETS DISTRIBUTED IN ADAMAWA STATE.

The Malaria Elimination Manager, Adamawa State Ministry of Health,Mr.Benjamin Nashon Gubi,has confirmed the distribution of about 3,252,433 insecticide treated mosquito nets in the 21 local government areas of the state.
The anti-malaria project was executed by Adamawa State Government in collaboration with the elimination partners like Management Sciences for Health, Catholic relief Services and National Malaria Elimination Programme with funding from Global Fund Malaria Project.
Benjamin Gubi who visited NUJ Secretariat Yola to seek for more collaboration in publicity said, the mosquito nets were received from 1st April-7th July 2023.
He explained that the project undergoes State Training of Trainers which comprise of Executive Secretaries, Health Educators and Logisticians who inturn with domesticate it at various levels of local governments.
The Project Director, Global Fund Malaria Grant at Management Sciences for Health, Isaac Adejo identified Global Fund as the donor that is supporting the country to implement those malaria interventions in 13 states including Adamawa.
Adejo emphasized that each settlement and household were reached during the distribution.
