The Area Comptroller of Nigeria Customs Service, Adamawa and Taraba states Command, Abdullahi Salihu Kazaure has told the leadership of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Adamawa State council that, the media is an indispensable partner in promoting the statutory functions of the command like anti-smuggling and trade facilitations hence the need for partnership for socio-economic growth of the nation.
Mr.Kazaure gave the indication while receiving the state officials of the council led by the Chairman, Comrade Ishaka Donald Dedan who paid him a courtesy call in his Command in Yola.
The Custom Comptroller,who was flanked by his management team assured the NUJ leadership of collaboration and support to enable his men and officers discharging their duties effectively.
According to him, since his assumption in office just few months ago, the Command has made significant seizures of contraband goods and clampdown on smugglers, particularly at the boarder axis of the state.
He commend NUJ for it’s foresight in seeking harmonious working relationship with the Command.
The State Chairman of NUJ, Adamawa State council had earlier extolled the verse experience of Abdullahi Kazaure, having served deligently and combatly in various Custom Commands across the nation.
Dedan,who was visibly happy with the intellects in the management team of the command equally assured the Custom Comptroller of the support of the Union at all times.
