Members of the media team attached to the Office of the Wife of the Adamawa State Governor, Hajiya Lami Fintiri, have been urged to strengthen professionalism, teamwork and effective communication in carrying out their responsibilities.
The call was made during a capacity-building training for members of the team held at Livak Hotel, Karewa, Jimeta.
The training, themed “Enhancing Professionalism, Excellence and Effective Media Communication,” focused on improving professional skills, effective message delivery and responsible communication in the changing media environment.
Resource person, Comrade Zare Baba, emphasised the importance of accuracy, creativity, professionalism and ethical standards in media practice.
He urged participants to continuously develop their skills and adapt to emerging technologies, noting that effective communication requires a proper understanding of the audience and timely and accurate delivery of information.
Comrade Zare Baba also stressed the need for the media team to ensure that information presented to the public is credible, properly communicated and professionally handled.
Speaking on “Building a More Professional, Effective and Impactful Press Team,” veteran broadcaster Yusuf Buba highlighted teamwork and coordination as essential elements of an effective media team.
Yusuf Buba urged participants to improve their skills in news gathering, writing, broadcasting and digital communication while maintaining professional and ethical standards.
He encouraged members of the team to work collectively, exchange ideas and ensure proper coordination in the discharge of their responsibilities.
The convener of the training and Chief Press Secretary to the Wife of the Governor, Clara Attah Mustapha, described the programme as timely and relevant to the responsibilities of the media team.
She said the duties of the team require professionalism, accuracy, creativity, discipline and teamwork, urging members to continuously improve their skills and keep pace with developments in traditional and digital media.
Clara Mustapha appreciated the Wife of the Governor for supporting the capacity-building programme and the professional development of the team.
Also speaking, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr Humuwashi Honosiko, commended the initiative and stressed the importance of continuous capacity development in media practice.
He urged participants to apply the knowledge acquired during the training and strengthen collaboration in carrying out their duties.
Representing the Wife of the Governor, her Senior Special Assistant on New Media, Mr Ishaya Bitrus, said the training demonstrated the importance attached to effective and professional communication.
He described the media team as an important link between the office and the public, stressing that a well-trained and coordinated team is essential for effectively communicating programmes, initiatives and activities.
Mr Bitrus encouraged participants to embrace innovation and make effective use of digital platforms to reach a wider audience.
He conveyed the continued support of the Wife of the Governor for initiatives aimed at improving the professional capacity of the media team.
The training exposed participants to practical approaches to professional media practice, effective communication, teamwork and the use of traditional and digital platforms.
