NAWOJ Adamawa Urges Government to Prioritize Children’s Education

By: Gloria Abutu

The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Adamawa state chapter, has called on the government and relevant stakeholders to prioritize the education of children in the state.

The association made the call in a statement jointly signed by it’s chairperson, Rose Anthony Elishama and Secretary, Gloria Abutu on the occasion of this year’s Children’s Day.

The association highlighted the urgent need for substantial investments in education to foster sustainable development and economic growth.

Describing children as the nation’s future, the association expressed concern over the growing number of out-of-school children and stressed the need to provide essential educational materials such as books, school bags, and uniforms to support primary education.

NAWOJ also voiced serious concern about the high rates of violence against children, urging all stakeholders to work together to ensure the safety, well-being, and educational advancement of children, which are vital for a prosperous future.
