In line with its Regional Stabilization and Development Master Plan, the North East Development Commission, NEDC, has reaffirmed its commitment to humanitarian support and food security as part of efforts to tackle hunger and boost agricultural production across the Northeast.
The Adamawa State Coordinator of the Commission, Khalifa Lawal, made this known in Yola while distributing food items to orphans in Yola North Local Government Area and presenting 500 bags of 50kg NPK fertilizer to the Nigerian Automobile Technicians Association in Adamawa State.
Lawal urged beneficiaries to ensure the equitable distribution of the items and the effective use of the fertilizer to enable members, including mechanics, tricycle repairers and vulcanisers, to engage in farming and improve agricultural productivity during the current farming season.
Beneficiaries of the gesture, including the Zonal Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Automobile Technicians Association, Ahmed Usman, who received the fertilizer and Mary John, expressed gratitude to the Commission and assured that the items would be put to good use.
The interventions highlight the Commission’s broader agricultural and humanitarian strategy aimed at empowering communities, strengthening food security and building resilient livelihoods across the Northeast.
