The National Health Insurance Authority has charged enrollees to acquaint themselves with the operations of the health authority so as to enjoy maximum benefits and services.
The charge was made by the state coordinator of the National Health Insurance Authority, Adamawa state Comrade Aliyu Musa Abdulhakeem, during a stakeholders’ meeting organized in Yola, the Adamawa state capital with the theme: harnessing and building National Health Insurance Authority stakeholders’ capacity for sustainable synergy towards universal Health care attainment.
Comrade Aliyu Musa Abdulhakeem said enrollees are always at liberty to change service provider whom they felt is not giving them services in accordance with the guidelines of the National Health insurance authority.
The state coordinator said a lot of changes have been taking place in the National health insurance authority, hence the need for engaging stakeholders for the sake of getting them updated.
According to him, the National Health Insurance Authority had resolved to be funding this quarterly engagement so as to inform enrollees on what to ask for or not, and how to go about that.
The executive secretary, Adamawa state contributory Health Management Agency, Dr. Amos Ujulu, who was represented by the Director Programs, Mrs. Felicia Maindo during the meeting appreciated the National health Insurance authority for finding time to organize the engagement which according to him will help in strengthening the relationship between the state and federal health insurance authorities.
In his speech, the Chairman of the occasion who is the Board Chairman, Adamawa state contributory Health Management Agency, Dr. Ahmed Ibrahim Mustafa, Ubandoman Adamawa, and also the district head of Girei thanked the National Health Insurance Authority for the continuous engagement of stakeholders in the health sector which he said will go a long way in explaining the roles and responsibilities of enrollees as well as the Health care facilities.
Earlier in his opening remarks, the state coordinator said the authority would intimate enrollees on their rights, and responsibilities as well as that of the Health care facilities for effective health service delivery.
Some of the desk officers who spoke to Radio Nigeria said engagements like this had really helped their health facilities in ensuring quality service delivery at all times.
They also called on enrollees to always exercise patience whenever they visited their facilities as they are both partners in progress.
