The National Orientation Agency NOA, Gombe State has commended the good people of Gombe State for conducting themselves peacefully while exercising their franchise in the Governorship and state House of Assembly elections held in the State.

The Gombe State Director of the Agency, Adaline Waye Patari gave the commendation while speaking to Radio Nigeria shortly after she led the agency’s team on a monitoring tour to about five (5) Local government areas of the state to monitor the conduct of the election at some polling units.

According to Adaline Waye Patari, there has been a lot of progress in the electoral process across the state, specifically in the use of BVAS and the formation of security personnel manning major roads and streets.

She noted that the Agency has done a lot to educate the voters which resulted in this great success.

The Director noted that most of the polling units visited by her Team found that the election was going on without any challenges.

The NOA State Director applauded the Independent National Electoral Commission for delivering election materials to most of the Polling units on time and for the introduction of new modern technology and strategies which lead to the success of the election.

Adeline Patari also made a special call to the candidates and citizens to accept the outcome of the election in good faith without any conflict and crisis as they did during the recent presidential and National Assembly election to maintain peace in the state and the country as a whole.

Our reporter Abdulaziz Ibrahim Hassan who went around with the NOA team during the Monitoring exercise, reports that there was a very poor turnout of voters and rampant vote buying in most of the polling Units.

The local government councils visited the monitoring team including Kaltungo, Shongom, Billiri, Akko, kwami and Gombe Local Government Area.
