Skills and workforce development have been identified as major tools for reducing unemployment and underemployment, increasing productivity, and improving standards of living in Nigeria.

The Director General, Poverty Alleviation and Wealth Creation Agency, PAWECA, Michael Zira, made these assertions during a press briefing in Yola.

Zira said investing in upskilling or reskilling people for jobs in the future makes economic sense when skills and workforce development are done right.

He further explained that screening and verification for candidates who participated in the profiling exercise across the 21 local government areas of the state will commence on Thursday, March 20, and Friday, March 21, from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm

Meanwhile, on Saturday, March 22, the common entrance examination will be conducted for candidates successfully screened.

Zira revealed that the examination will start at 8:00 am and end at 12:00pm and advised interested candidates to come along with their primary and secondary school certificates for the screening and verification exercise.

The PAWECA DG noted that only those whose names were captured in the register during the last exercise, whether or not they have received an invitation via text message, can participate.
