PDP Women Leader commends Governor Fintiri for supporting women in politics.

Women Leader, People’s Democratic Party, PDP, in Adamawa State, Suzanne Mark says Women’s political participation is a fundamental prerequisite for gender equality and genuine democracy, calling for increased women participation in politics.

 

 

Mark made the call at a women in politics platform Adamawa State and Garga Foundation Press conference, mentorship and coaching session prioritizing women participation in the upcoming Local Government Area election 2024 in Yola Adamawa State.

 

The People’s Democratic Party, PDP Women Leader in Adamawa State, Suzanne Mark said increased women participation in politics will facilitate women’s direct engagement in public decision-making and a means of ensuring better accountability in governance.

 

“You know when women are on board leading all they have in mind is how to make sure that masses and everybody is there to see how they can benefit, ” Suzanne said.

 

While appreciating Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for supporting increased participation of Women in politics, Mark said the role of women in Nation building cannot be over emphasized and therefore encouraged PDP women Leaders in the various twenty-one Local Government Areas of Adamawa State to participate actively in the forth coming local government election.

 

 

The PDP Women Leader appreciated the support of Garga Foundation for organizing the mentorship and coaching conference aimed at increasing women participation in politics.

 

She added that decision making by women in politics begins with increasing the number of women of participation and charged other well meaning individuals to emulate the Garga Foundation in encouraging participation of more women in politics for rapid development of the State and Nation at large.

 

“It is a call from Garga Foundation who knows the potential that is in women that indeed when women are brought on board to lead is therefore means there is hope for development” she added.

 

 

The conference aimed at increasing women participation in politics is coming on the heels of the recent pronouncement by Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State on PDP intention to pick women as vice chairmen in the forthcoming local government council elections in the state.
