Independent National Electoral Commission INEC in Adamawa State said it has concluded all preparations for the conduct of the rerun election in the state.
Adamawa State Acting Resident Electoral Commissioner, Malam Adamu Gujungu made this known while briefing newsmen shortly after an Inter-Agency Consultative Committee meeting on the forth coming election in Yola, the Adamawa state capital.
Malam Adamu Gujungu Said following a court order for rerun election in the country on the 3rd of February this year, the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC in Adamawa State will conduct re-run elections in Mayo Belwa State constituency in seven polling units across three Registration Areas of the local government area.
The Acting REC said INEC in Adamawa State has also met with security agencies in the state in preparation for the elections.
Malam Adamu Gujungu Said the commission has equally commenced training of staff for the exercise and has already distributed non sensitive materials to Mayo Belwa local government area for the February 3 elections.
Gujungu has assured the people of Adamawa state, especially those in the affected polling units that the Independent National Electoral Commission will conduct a free, fair and credible election in the re-run exercise.
He therefore solicited support and cooperation from the general public to enable the electoral umpire to carry out its mandate effectively.
The affected registration areas are Mayo Belwa, Yoffo and Gengle.
