SUBSIDY REMOVAL: Adamawa State Government Rolls our Palliatives.

Adamawa state government has rolled out palliatives to cushion the effect of subsidy removal in the state.

 

 

 

The chairman of the palliative committee and chief of staff, government house, Mr. Amos Edgar revealed this at a news conference held at the government house Yola.

 

 

 

According to him, after series of meetings and consultation with the organized labour and other relevant stakeholders in the state, the state government had to come up with schedule of activities on palliatives that will help in cushioning the effects of fuel subsidy removal in the state.

 

 

 

The state governor had approved the sum of ten thousand naira monthly allowance to all civil servants and pensioners in the state government payroll for the period of six months.

 

 

 

Subsequently, local government workers will start enjoying minimum wage from the month of august.

 

 

 

According to the state governor, there are 70 trucks of maize and 20 trucks of rice that are ready for distribution at a subsidize rate for the people of the state.

 

 

 

There are also 50 trucks of fertilizer, specifically for workers who are engaging in agricultural activities, which will be distributed at a subsidize rate.

 

 

 

The government will also provide buses that will ease transportation difficulties for workers and the public within the state capital and inter-local government.

 

 

 

Speaking further, the State chairman of TUC Comrade Dauda Ali said the labour has been with the state government all this while in trying to find suitable ways to ease the difficulties experienced by the people of the state.

 

 

 

He assured the people of the state to remain calm as the government keep unfolding measures to ease their difficulties.
