Troops of Six Brigade/Sector Three Operation Whirl Stroke have apprehended the owner of the Blue Toyota Yaris car conveying an AK-47 and other arms from Doruwa village to wukari local government area in Taraba state.
It could be recalled that on Tuesday, 5th of September 2024, troops intercepted the car with registration number, Taraba KLD 652 XA and while they searched the vehicle they discovered an AK-47 rifle and other incriminating items hidden in the vehicle after the driver abandoned it.
In a statement signed by Acting Assistant Director six Brigade Army Public Relations, Captain OLUBODUNDE Oni revealed that thorough investigation carried out by the army led to the arrest of the owner of the abandoned vehicle known as Mallam Abubakar Adamu.
According to the statement, Adamu believed to be involved in certain criminal activities, confessed to sending the driver to convey the weapons from Doruwa village to Wukari Local government area of Taraba state.
Captain Oni pointed out that Mallam Adamu was arrested with two mobile phones alongside an accomplice, Mallam Isah Ibrahim.
Commander Six Brigade, Brigadier General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa, saluted the troops for their dedication and resilience, stating that “this arrest is a testament to their commitment to maintaining peace and security in Taraba State and its environs.”
He thanked the public for providing credible intelligence that led to the success of the operation, urging them not to relent in providing information to security agencies.
