Media practitioners in the country have again been asked to remain resolute in the fight against corruption and exposing all forms of criminality in the society without fear or favour.
UNICEF representative in Adamawa State, Mr. Joel gave the charge while featuring on “Gite Perdo”, a Radio Nigeria Fombina FM Yola, anti corruption programme being broadcast in Fulfulde Language.
The programme is being sponsored by an NGO, Wadata Media and Advocacy Center with support from MacArthur foundation.
Mr. Joel said Radio Nigeria Fombina FM Yola and the sponsors of the program were relentless in exposing corruption in the state while also creating public awareness on the dangers of graft to the society.
He particularly commended Formbina Radio and the Wadata Media Advocacy centre with MacAthur foundation for the recent uncover of unlawful sale of instructional materials allocated to Adamawa state Universal Basic Education Board by the UNICEF.
He recalled how the programme investigated and discovered a shop belonging to a woman in Hayin Gada, in Girei Local Government Area selling UNICEF donated schools bag to the people.
Mr. Joel who condemned the action while contributing during the programme called for thorough investigation of what is going on in other places as the bags are free and not for sale.
He promised to collaborate with the management of Fombina FM Yola to dig into the illegal sale of the UNICEF school bags and other materials for immediate arrest of the culprits.
He emphasized the need for the State Government to do the needful in checking the excesses of some corrupt officials of government institutions in the interest of sanity and progress.
