WE CAN NOW SMILE UNDER ‘FRESH AIR GOVT’. —-Nigeria Union of Pensioners.

The Nigeria Union of Pensioners, Adamawa state Chapter said, with the approval of about N3billion by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri’s led administration, it’s members can now have reprieve following the economic hardship biting the citizens of Nigeria.
Recalled that on Tuesday, 6th February 2024, Governor Ahmadu Umaru announced to labour leaders during a solidarity visit over Supreme court victory that by the month of march,a collosal sum three billion naira will be released by his Government to offset the baglog of pension and gratuities of Pensioners in the state.

 

The State Chairman of Nigeria Union of Pensioners, Comrade Mohamed Sali while speaking to Newsmen on the cheering development said the gesture is overwhelming and must be commended by all pensioners and good people of the state.

 

Mohammed Sali urged pensioners to be patient as all the processes will be transparent because the Pension Boards have all the list of retirees month by month and year by year including all the necessary data.

 

He thanked the Chairmen of Pension Boards, permanent secretary Local Government Affairs, Accountant General and the organised Labour in Adamawa for standing by the NUP.

 

Mohammed Sali use the forum to expressed unprecedented appreciation to the Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for the identifying with the Pensioners despite commitments of the government in some other sectors.

 

A Pensioners, Mallam Umar Abubakar said “though life after retirement now is challenging,we are happy to hear that such amount will be released at this difficult times’.
