The World Bank Community Engagement officer, Mr Andy Awuli Saglah, has called on the people of Anguwa Uku, in Gombe metropolis to take ownership of ACReSAL projects within their area as they are the benefitting community.
Mr Andy Awuli, made the call when a team from Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes ACRESAL Gombe, it’s federal office and world bank visited Anguwa Uku in it’s continuous tour of protecting the environment.
The team lead by Gombe ACReSAL project coordinator ambassador Sani Adamu said, the purpose of the visit is to create awareness on the their projects and programmes sponsored jointly by Gombe state government and the world bank.
Ambassador Sani Jauro explained that the project has three main branches, which are the environmental management, agricultural and water resources.
He added that the world bank project is an ongoing project in 19 states and the federal capital, Abuja.
Also speaking during the visit, the village head of Anguwa Uku Community, Alhaji Abubakar Hassan Abubakar, thanked the world bank, gombe state government and ACReSAL for selecting his community to be among the beneficiaries in the state.
Alhaji Abubakar Hassan Abubakar, also called the attention of the team to some needs of the community such as Boreholes, good drainages and a waste disposal area.
The ACReSAL team paid similar visit to Malam Inna and some community interest groups receiving training, sponsored by ACReSAL as part of it’s community empowerment programs, in skills acquisition at London Mai Dorowa all within Gombe metropolis.
