The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has officially affirmed Chief Maurice Vunobolki as its Governorship candidate for the 2027 general elections in Adamawa State.
The affirmation exercise took place at the Mahmud Ribadu Square in Yola and was attended by a large gathering of party faithful, delegates, stakeholders, youth groups, and supporters from all 21 local government areas of the state.
The exercise, conducted by the PDP Electoral Committee under the supervision of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), was described by party officials as peaceful, transparent, and fully aligned with the party’s internal democratic principles.
In his acceptance speech shortly after his emergence, Vunobolki expressed deep gratitude to party leaders, delegates, and members for the confidence reposed in him.
He assured that he would justify the mandate through inclusive governance and people-oriented leadership if elected governor in 2027.
Vunobolki pledged to consolidate on the achievements of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, particularly in infrastructure development, education, healthcare delivery, youth empowerment, and rural transformation across the state. He urged party members to remain united and committed ahead of the 2027 elections, stressing that collective effort would be key to securing victory for the PDP at all levels.
Party supporters who spoke at the event described his emergence as a sign of continuity, unity, and stability within the PDP.
They expressed optimism that the ruling party remains strongly positioned to retain power in Adamawa State, noting that the developmental strides recorded under the Fintiri administration have provided a solid foundation for sustained growth and socio-economic development.
