Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has directed contractors handling government projects across the state to ensure all ongoing projects reach roofing stage by the end of July and move into the finishing phase.
The governor gave the directive while inspecting the ongoing construction of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Permanent Orientation Camp in Adamawa State.
Governor Fintiri assured contractors that government would address genuine variations and fluctuations where necessary and make funds available to ensure timely completion of projects.
While expressing satisfaction with the quality of work at the camp, he noted that progress was slower than expected and stressed the need for contractors to accelerate work.
He directed that the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp be completed by the end of September to enable the next batch of corps members expected in October to undertake their orientation at the facility.
The governor said he would personally inspect the project every two weeks to monitor progress and ensure value for money.
Fintiri reiterated his administration’s commitment to completing all ongoing projects between October and November, while newly awarded projects are expected to be delivered by March next year.
He also inspected the ongoing Mother and Child Hospital project in Jimeta, where he was conducted round the site by the project engineer.
