Adamawa State government has assured Corps Members of adequate security in their places of assignment during their service year.
Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri gave the assurance at the passing out parade of the 2023 Batch ‘A’ Stream two Corps Members, held at NYSC Orientation Camp, Damare Girei Local government area of the State.
The Adamawa State Governor, who was represented by the Chief of Staff government house Yola, Professor Maxwell Gidado explained that life of Corps Members is of utmost priority to the state government, urging them to be security conscious at all times and avoid dangerous places and social vices for their safety.
Umaru Fintiri said since the Corps Members are fully equipped during the orientation course with skills, they should replicate them in their places of primary assignment.
According to him, the good people of Adamawa State are ready to welcome them, hence the need for corps members to be good ambassadors of the scheme and the country at large.
The State governor therefore congratulated the National Youths Service Corps @50 enumerating various achievements the scheme has recorded in the last five decades.
The Adamawa State Coordinator, National Youths Service Corps, Mr. Jingi Denis advised the Corps Members that as they begin their next phase of the Service, they should sustain the spirit of patriotism, hard work and resilience which they imbibed during the orientation course.
The NYSC State Coordinator also stressed the need for employers to mentor these young Nigerians properly to enable them develop their potentials.
Jingi Denis therefore called on stakeholders, including state and local government authorities as well as traditional rulers, to give the necessary encouragement to these corps members.
Some of the 2023 Batch ‘A’Stream two Corps Members spoke to Radio Nigeria expressed happiness during the passing out parade.
A total of one thousand, four hundred and fourteen corps memebers were discharged from the orientation camp.
