Adamawa state government frowns at slow pace of work at Numan and Lamurde hospitals.

Adamawa state government has urged Relia building construction company to hasten the work at the ongoing construction of Lamurde cottage hospital for the benefit of the citizens.


Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri while inspecting the 60-bed capacity project and Staff Quarters warned that henceforth, the slow pace of work will not be tolerated.


The construction of the sixty bed capacity Lamurde cottage hospital is part of the fresh air administration’s quest to ensure that citizens have access to quality and affordable health services.


Represented by his Deputy professor Kaletapwa Farauta, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri was conducted round the hospital and staff quarters by the local government chairman Bulus Daniel among other local government officials.


He frowned at the pace of the ongoing construction of Lamurde cottage hospital, stressing the need for the contracting company to redouble effort towards the completion of the project to enable government take over the facility and kick start operations for the people.


The Governor further made case on the need for provision of shade where patients relative can relax and keep their luggage so as to decongest the wards.


Governor Fintiri tasked the council chairman and the entire Lamurde community to take ownership of the facility and make the environment habitable.


Architect Usman Ismail attributed the slow pace of work to difficult terrain, promising timely completion of the project in view of its importance.


Similarly, Governor Fintiri proceeded to Numan General Hospital on the same mission.


While in Numan he expressed dissatisfaction, ordering the contracting firm “Habitat and building concept limited” to mobilize back to site and complete the ongoing projects awarded them since 2020, saying government will not condone such lackadaisical attitude.


The projects include the ongoing construction of Pediatric and Laboratory complex, theater, female surgical ward with theater and mortuary among others.


The Governor challenged the Chairmen to always ensure proper monitoring of the ongoing developmental projects in their domain for optimal result.


The site engineer Yusuf Ahmed Gankuba explained that the fall out between the contractor and the first site engineer led to the delay in the ongoing project.
