Adamawa State government holds public lecture to mark one year in office.

Adamawa State Government has re-affirmed its commitment to serve the public with integrity and dedication.

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintri stated this at a public lecture marking first year in his second term in office, held at Banquet Hall, Government House, Yola.

Represented by the Deputy Governor, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta, Governor Fintiri explained that the Public Lecture was a testament to the commitment to the advancement of political discourse and governance in the state.

According to the Governor, the gathering was to reflect on the fundamental principles that underpin the political system, saying that they are reminded of the profound impact that thoughtful, ethical and effective politics can have on the lives of the citizens.

He, therefore said politics at its core, is not merely about the wielding of power, but about the pursuit of the common good, the promotion of justice and the creation of opportunities for all.

Umaru Fintri pointed out that, during the past year, they have strived to uphold the values of democracy, ensuring that the policies and initiatives reflects the aspirations and needs of the people.

He added that, from improving healthcare and Education to fostering economic growth and ensuring security, his administration has done a lot to provide good governance rooted in transparency, accountability and inclusivity.

The Guest Speaker at the Public Lecture, who is also the Vice Chancellor Modibbo Adama University, Yola, Professor Liman Tukur expressed the need for leaders to utilize all sorts of political potentials to provide dividends of democracy.

The topic for the Anniversary Lecture was Quintessence of politics.
