Adamawa State Gov’t approves over ₦ 1.6 billion for procurement of security vehicles

Adamawa State Executive Council has approved the procurement of twenty-five brand new pick-up trucks from Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Limited for security agencies in the state.

 

Briefing Newsmen after the council meeting, the Commissioner of Information and Strategy, James Iliya, stated that the trucks would be purchased at a cost of 1,618,796,813 Naira only.

 

The Commissioner emphasized that these vehicles would aid the security agencies in addressing the security challenges in the state.

 

The council has also approved the construction of an e-office block for the office of the Accountant General of the state at a cost of ₦353,779,665.02 and the contract was awarded to Vicamos Nigeria Limited

 

 

The new e-centre, awarded to Vicamos Nigeria Limited, will feature two server rooms, two large multipurpose halls, and proper ventilation, along with five alert mechanisms.

 

The council, through the Ministry of Livestock and Aquaculture, has taken steps to control the outbreak of anthrax in Madagali and Michika local government areas.

 

The Commissioner of Livestock and Aquaculture, Tijjani Maksha, revealed that samples of the suspected disease have been confirmed positive at a laboratory in Jos.

 

Maksha also disclosed the outbreak of foot and mouth diseases in animals in Mubi South communities, with the government already sending samples for examination to prevent further spread.

 

The Federal Ministry of Agriculture has generously donated 350 doses of vaccines and other accessories valued at around ₦150 million to support the state government’s efforts in combating animal diseases.
