Adamawa State government has approved the payment of four point eight billion naira for both WAEC and NECO examinations as well as other meaningful projects in the state.
The Chief of Staff Government house Yola, Doctor Edgar Emos Sunday stated this during the 2024 first quarter media parley organized by the office of the Principal Special Assistant on media and communications to the Governor, Mr.George Kushi which was held in Yola, the state capital.
Doctor Edgar Emos Sunday who was represented by the special Adviser to the Governor, Doctor Adamu Babikkoi during the media parley stated that the Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri led administration has approved a lot of developmental projects in the state from the beginning of his second tenure in office, contrary to the perception that second tenures are mostly not as committed as the first ones.
Edgar Emos congratulated the Principal Special Assistant for convening the media parley which he said will help in putting the government and the people on the same page as far as the growth and development of Adamawa state is concerned.
In his speech, the convener of the parley who is the Principal Special Assistant on media and communications to the Governor, George Kushi highlighted some of the achievements recorded by the fintiri led administration in the second tenure as packaged in administration’s recalibrated four point agenda, from urban renewal drive to the humanitarian aspect as well as economic empowerment projects.
Kushi noted that while the government is working on the infrastructure in the state, it did not deterred as it equally looked at the plight of retirees in the state and appropriate measures have been taken to address them.
The principal special assistant said the ban on felling of trees for firewood and the smuggling of both food items and building materials out of the state are moves by the state government to protect the ecological front and to return the state back to it srightful position of being a major rice producer in the country.
The Principal Special Assistant therefore called on media practitioners in the state to ensure that the truth is always passed out to the general public as their social responsibility demanded that the general populace knows and understand what the government is doing.
In their separate remarks, the Chief press secretary to the governor, Humwashi Wonosikou and the Special Adviser on Media and Communication, Doctor John Ngamsa commended the convener of the media parley for giving the opportunity to brainstorm on the achievements of the governor.
While urging journalists not to turn blind eye to the developments happening in the state, they equally
reiterated the commitment of the fintiri led administration in repositioning the state and at the same time putting the welfare of the people in the forefront, assuring the administration’s determination of living no one behind and nothing untouched as long as the development of the state is concern.
The commissioner of information and strategy, Neido Geoffrey Kofulto assured that the Fintiri led administration will remain committed and transparent in the affairs of running the state.
She therefore thanked all that attended the Media parley, adding that government will continue to provide platforms like this where the government and the governed can meet, discuss and provide clarity in the needed areas.
