So they should make sure they will make sure that they pay back to respective people”

Auwal tukur said the committee has redesign the distribution pattern of the received fifty five trucks of the rice intended for the vulnerable house hold in the state.

According to him the essence of redesigning the distribution plan is to ensure that the palliative goes down to the grass root as equitable as possible.

” initially we’ve ordered for fifty and we already had have five from the federal government, so the same fifty five which was supposed to be distributed in 25 kg packages to be sold then, we’ve come back and with the approval of the committee have redesigned it and repackaged it to 10 kg so we’ll be distributing it in 10 kg”

Auwal Tukur said as part of its resolution, committee has resolved to re-bag earlier agreed 25 kg of the rice to 10 kg for onward distribution.

In the new arrangement, the chairman said supplementary groups has been added to the distribution chart which includes emirs and chiefs, state house of assembly, civil servants below level six & daily rated workers, commissioners, schools, CAN and muslim council as well as the security abd the press.

” Rice is ready to go, we expect to start rolling out tomorrow to various local governments, we’d already preposition them, maize starts within the next week hopefully, we would’ve have repackaged, received a lot of quantity and be able to distribute that to our people”

Auwal Tukur said the committee had equally started receiving trucks of maize that were ordered for distribution to the people.

While reassuring that so far the state government had received only two billion naira from the federal government against the five billion naira that people are talking about, and out of the 150 trucks of maize that is expected to arrive in the state , only six was received and upon receipt, it will be rebag to 25 kg so that it can be distributed across the state to the vulnerable households.
