Adamawa State Gov’t to introduce reforms the would improve traditional leaders’ welfare

Adamawa State government has expressed readiness to carry out reforms that will improve and strengthen traditional rulers in the State.

 

Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri revealed this when he received District Heads in the state who paid him a courtesy visit at the Government House Yola.

 

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri stated that the state government through the office of the Secretary to the state government will organize a workshop that will further strengthen their knowledge and bring them up to speed on how to carry out their Responsibilities effectively.

 

Governor Fintiri cautioned the district heads on the activities of illegal miners in the state, warning that the state government will not take it lightly on anybody that is found taking part in that activity, as this is now the root cause of problems experienced by states that allow such activities to continue in their states.

 

Governor Fintiri noted that the district heads have major roles to play in the state being those close to the people at the grassroots, adding that government has observed that they are not getting the required remuneration and welfare and they are not well structured administratively , hence the need for government to look at the issue and ensure that all this are put in place and order, including the chiefs and emirs as well.

 

While thanking them for the visit, the governor urged them to reach out to their people to remain calm and peaceful as government is working hard for the development of the state.

 

Earlier, the district head of Duhu , Mustafa Muhammadu Sanusi Said the district heads were at the government house to congratulate and appreciate the governor for the supports he has been giving to all the district heads across the state.

 

Speaking further on the essence of the visit, the district heads of Hong and Gella, Umar Mohammed Babangida and Sali Bello explained that governor Fintiri has performed well in areas of infrastructue, education, agriculture , transportation, security as well as maintaining peace in the state.

 

While attesting to numerous supports they have been enjoying from the governor, they equally assured him of their support as he continues to champion the cause of governing the state and wished him well in his life endeavors.
