State2State to Adamawa State Auditors: work towards enhance performance audit to boost Internally Generated Revenue.

Auditors in various Ministries, Departments and Agencies, MDAs in Adamawa State have been encouraged to work towards enhancing performance audit to create business enabling environment to boost the State’s Internally Generated Revenue IGR, and that of the Nation at large.
State2State Public Financial Management Specialist, Bauchi office, Isaac Otabor made the call at a three-Day Performance Audit training in Yola, Adamawa State.
The Public Financial Management Specialist, Bauchi office, Isaac Otabor noted that constitutional restrictions on publishing audit report should not affect the performance of auditors and stressed the need for identification of necessary audit working papers such as government policies, budget,  amongst others to create business friendly environment to boost the State’s IGR and that of the Nation at large.
Earlier in a goodwill message, Adamawa State Accountant General, Usman Ahmed commended State2State for its support to build the capacity of State and Local Government Auditors in improving efficiency and effectiveness of operations in key priority sectors of the the State MDAs and pledged to ensure that the various participants step down knowledge gained from the training for improved service delivery and enhanced performance audit.
State2State Public Financial Management Specialist, Suzanne Myada said the purpose of the intervention on performance audit was to train State Officials on enhanced performance audit of government processes, programs and operations for improvement.
Participants at the training were drawn from  State and Local Government Auditor General’s Office, Account General’s Office and Bureau for Public Procurement Office of Adamawa State.
The event was organized by State2State a USAID funded project to provide hands-on experience in the conduct of performance audit using cases in the three sectors of education, health and WASH and to build the capacity of State Officials in preparation of performance Audit Reports of projects audited in the three key sectors including recommendations for improvement.
