Committee Investigating College of Health Technology in Adamawa State Submits Findings to Health Commissioner.
In a bid to improve the quality of healthcare education in Adamawa state, a committee has been set up to investigate the standard of colleges of health technology in the state.
After conducting thorough evaluations of 24 colleges of health technology in the state, the committee led by its chairman professor Auwal Abubakar submitted their findings to the state commissioner of health Dr Felix Tangwame today at the ministry’s conference room.
The committee, comprising of experts in the field of healthcare and education, was inaugurated by the state governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri on 20th of February 2024 and was tasked with assessing the quality of education and facilities in the colleges of education across the state.
The committee chairman professor Auwal Abubakar, revealed that only one college was deemed to be of a standard quality, while 8 were considered to be fairly standard. The remaining 15 colleges were found to be lacking in every aspect, from infrastructure to faculty qualifications.
He highlighted several key issues in their report, including the fact that some schools don’t have facilities and are squatting in government own schools with approval from ministry of education adding that most of the substandard schools are owned by people who are outside the state.
He also noted that many of the colleges were not meeting the minimum requirements set by the state government for accreditation.
In light of these findings, the committee made several recommendations to improve the quality of education in colleges of health technology in the state.

Felix Tangwami has pledged to communicate to the governor so as to take immediate action on the committee’s recommendations in order to ensure that students in colleges of health technology receive the quality education they deserve.
It is hoped that these measures will lead to a significant improvement in the standard of healthcare education in the state, ultimately benefiting both students and the Society at large.
